This necklace was inspired by the architectural renderings of the new SFMOMA expansion. As seen from above, the hand-fabricated silver form represents the main building while the oxidized silver chain is precisely strung to create the shape of the new terraces. Together the silver form and chain create the true footprint of the new building.

Being inspired by the architecture of the SFMOMA, the designer wanted to name these pieces after some of her favorite artists in the museum's collection. Kahlo and Rivera are almost synonymous with each other, and the designer liked the idea of reflecting that with juxtaposition of these two different series, utilizing the same shape but each with a different interpretation. One may say that at the base of a Rivera, you can always find a Kahlo, the same is true for this piece!
